Day One: Not so Bad!
Day one is over. Whoop woo! It went well. I'm like a juicing pro already... Well maybe not quite a pro. But, it's not nearly as scary as I feared it might be.
My plan was to have four different juices today but I ended up having three. Each of the recipes made a bit more than I anticipated so I nursed them throughout the day and didn't need the last one. I've not been hungry at all. In fact, I'm still feeling pretty full and tight. This much liquid may take me a while to get used to!
So here's the lineup from today:
Juice One: My concoction before going to the store and deciding to do this for real
3 apples; 3 carrots, and mixed in one scoop of Amazing Grass powder. It was delicious; seriously. Sooo yummy. My rating: 10. But I won't be using the powder anymore until I'm done with the juice feast. A couple large handfuls of greens could've replaced the grass powder.
Juice Two: Dragon Blood
Dragon's Blood
1/4 head of red cabbage, 1/2 lemon, and 2 pears My rating: 5. It was ok but nothing to brag about. I might add an extra pear next time or a handful of berries to give it a little zing. It was a bit bland. But it was really pretty :)
Juice Three: Sunset Blend
2 Golden Delicious Apples, 1 Beet, 1 Carrot, 1 Orange, 1 Sweet Potato. My rating: 9 . The smell was a little off but if I tried not to breathe I really liked the taste and the thought of all of those amazing nutrients blessing my body left me with a smile.
I tried really, really hard to drink 80 oz of water. I made it to about 60. Trying to drink that much water plus that much juice is going to take me a day or two to figure out. And, I wasn't kidding about all those extra trips to the restroom. My bladder is on overtime!
I feel good so far. I've not had any intense cravings or desires for other foods. Looking forward to Day Two!
